Assessment Toolkits

The WIAT III UK T  can be used for a variety of educational settings. Results can help in: 

  • Identifying academic strengths and weaknesses of a student 

  • Informing decisions regarding eligibility for educational services 

  • Providing evidence for applications for Access Arrangements and the Disabled Students’ Allowance 

  • Designing instructional objectives and planning interventions 

Tests include - Early Reading Skills: Word Reading; Reading Comprehension; Oral Reading Fluency and Spelling. 

TIPS Test of Information Processing Skills - gives a reliable measures of how well a person processes information presented visually and auditorily, including recall and word fluency. 

AAB - Academic Achievement Battery - A skills analysis for the investigation into individual’s strengths and weaknesses and offers a wealth of data with which to make interpretations and recommendations. 

TAPS 4  - The TAPS-4 measures language processing and comprehension skills across three intersecting areas: phonological processing, auditory memory and listening comprehension. These areas underpin the development of effective listening and communication skills which underpin the development of higher order language skills/literacy skills. 

Woodcock Johnson IV Tests of Achievement has 11 tests to assess areas of reading, writing and maths in persons aged between 4 up to adult (aged 90+). The test accepted for applying for access arrangements in the UK (25% extra time, reader and scribe) 

Crossbow – Visual Stress Assessment – this test is used to identify colour adjustment that will reduce and alleviate the symptoms of visual stress, to enable reading and other day to day activities.  

WRAT 4 The Wide Range Achievement Test 4 assessment measures reading skills, maths skills, spelling, and comprehension. The WRAT4 serves as an excellent initial academic achievement evaluation, re-evaluation, or progress measuring tool. 

The Dyscalculia Assessment is a tool for investigating individuals numeracy abilities. It is designed to inform a personalised teaching programme for individuals or small groups of pupils who have difficulties with numbers. 

The Maths and Dyscalculia – designed to identify and support learners aged 6 – 18 identifying error patterns, processing difficulties, and plan interventions in teaching and learning approaches.
